Arsenal: Intelligence into Action
The 2025/26 season marked the fourth consecutive season of Signify’s work with Arsenal Football Club, one of our longest-standing clients. We are proud of the partnership, which continues to demonstrate the value of combining AI-powered monitoring with human expertise, intelligence and real-world action.
Through our Threat Matrix service, Signify monitors online abuse and threats targeting Arsenal’s players, coaches, staff, families and wider Club community. The 2025/26 season highlighted the continued importance of moving beyond simply identifying harmful content to taking meaningful action against those responsible.
During the season, Signify’s Threat Matrix service detected and verified more than 17,700 abusive posts and comments directed at individuals and accounts connected to Arsenal.
But identifying abusive content is only the starting point.
The intelligence generated through Threat Matrix supported 267 investigations, with 39 identified individuals referred to Arsenal or other clubs for further action. In addition, nine cases were referred by Arsenal to law enforcement.
This is meaningful, real-world action.
From identifying abuse to identifying offenders
The volume of harmful content can be substantial, but the real value of effective online safeguarding lies in understanding what has happened, investigating those responsible and providing organisations with the intelligence they need to take action.
That is the approach behind Signify’s Threat Matrix service.
Using technology alongside human intelligence and investigation, Threat Matrix helps organisations identify and verify abusive and threatening behaviour, investigate serious cases and, where possible, identify the individuals responsible.
This creates the opportunity for meaningful consequences – whether through action by clubs such as stadium bans, engagement with platforms to suspend or ban accounts or escalation to law enforcement where appropriate. Essentially, this is about creating a deterrent through accountability.

Arsenal has made clear that abuse, discrimination, violence and intimidation have no place within its community.
The Club’s latest update forms part of its wider and ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for the millions of people who connect with Arsenal around the world.
Arsenal’s work with Signify is designed to help ensure that players, staff and others connected to the Club are better protected from online abuse and able to focus on what matters most - to deliver success.
Alongside monitoring and investigation, Arsenal’s approach – supported by the Signify team – includes education and direct support for those covered by the service.
Setting a benchmark for action
Arsenal continues to demonstrate how football clubs can combine technology, intelligence and enforcement to move beyond simply recording abuse and towards meaningful action.
